About

I’ve got lots of identities. I’m the 41-year-old mother of a beautiful two-year-old baby boy. I’m the American wife of a Scottish hearthrob. I’m a writer. I’m a lover of alternative music. I’m a sometimes-cyclist, sometimes-runner, sometimes-swimmer and a former (and aspiring future) triathlete. I’m a computer geek. I’m a struggler-with-my-weight.

On that last subject, I’ve been dealing with weight issues most of my life. I’ve been up and down and up again. In one down (low weight) period, I did a marathon (1994) and a bunch of sprint and Olympic-distance triathlons. (Not to mention 5Ks, a 10 miler, 25K, 30K, and a half-marathon.) So, I was pretty fit for a while there. My goal is to get back — if not to that point, to somewhere close to it. I’ve got a lot of weight to lose, and a lot of exercise to do, but I honestly enjoy it — once I get in the swing. This blog is meant to help me do that — to inspire me, to help me work out my mental demons, to help me feel part of a weight-loss community. Thanks for being a part of it, too.
